I'm working to catch up on blog posts between trips. At long last I'm posting about the amazing week spent in Tucson with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements and at the JHB Booth at the To Bead True Blue Show at the Double Tree.

Had a great time walking the show and even had a chance to get to the Whole Bead Show with Haley and a couple of other shows around town. My classes were loads of fun for me and I hope for my students. The CRYSTALLIZED show at the YWCA was always a highlight. The Ambassadors were treated to a reception and a sneak preview of new colors and components. There are some rock'n new shapes and colors. Swarovski never ceases to amaze with innovations. Can't wait to get my hands on these goodies to create with. I left with my head spinning!
My trend forecast for Spring and Summer include lots of vibrant colors from the a Spring palette, especially green and purple shades, (but don't dismiss red - it's back with a vengeance), and asymetrical everything (New Cosmic Square Ring #4437 pictured above - right)! Look for lots interpretations of organic materials in other mediums as well. CRYSTALLIZED is one step ahead of the game with the new Crystal Rocks and Ceramics as well as the introduction of a long awaited mid-range green (Fern #291) and addition to the purple family (Provence Lavender #283)which will be a nice compliment for gradients in the Tanzanite and Purple Velvet families.
All work and no play... There were evenings filled with fun including the annual Tucson Polymer Clay Gathering where many other notable clay artists attended such as: Meredith Arnold, Christie Friesen, Janet Pitcher, and Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg. I had a chance to drop by the John Bead Open House with friends. As always, the Interweave and Create-Your-Style parties were highlights. At the CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski event we danced under the open sky in a sparkling courtyard and capped of the night with friends at the Star Pass resort. View more photos for the events under the Tucson 2010 album. I invite all of you "Slaves to the Sparkle," to join the Create Your Style crystal community at www.create-your-style.com
Coming soon recaps of the Cabin Fever and Synergy II Conferences in Baltimore, Maryland.
