Today's creation is offered in honor and loving memory of Veronica Moser-Sullivan, her mother Ashley Moser, and all of the victims of the tragic Colorado movie theater shootings. Veronica is the granddaughter of a dear friend of mine who I have known since the fourth grade. I say that in the present tense since she will always be her granddaughter and live in her heart and those who knew and loved her forever. I hope this symbol of peace inspires all of us to live life to the fullest, with hearts filled with peace and good will towards others. When we create, we exercise one of human kind's greatest gifts. As creativity is the antithesis of destruction, I made this lid to symbolize "A Prayer for Peace." I folded a tiny Origami crane, which sits inside a teeny glass bottle. The Asian motif is carried throughout the design by affixing the bottle over Japanese Washi paper and surround the outside base of the bottle with cultured, rice pearls. The rim is covered with a white on blue floral motif using the Sutton Slice method.
Beautiful, Lisa. :)

A beautiful creation in memory of the victims of this horrific event. Thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their family & friends.
