This little tree has gone through the last of the annual seasons with today being the first day of winter. It has made it's way through the year with appearances on March 20th (first day of Spring) and June 21 (first day of Summer), and September 22 (the first day of Autumn). I created the lid from a sheet of Faux Wood method polymer clay. I cut the tree trunk and leaves around the rim using a large tree-shaped scrapbook punch. Chopped clay was used as the snow that rests on the tree branches and on the ground. Jacquard's Pearl Ex pigment powder was applied to give it a frosty glow. I rubbed the powder over a very thin sheet of white polymer clay and baked it. A tiny snowflake punch was used to cut out the clay appliques. A SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS flatback crystal was glued to each of these. The underlying layer along the rim is a fractured effect achieve dby applying Staedtler's silver leafing over black clay and stretching it slightly to crackle it.
